FOODIE FINDS “ART OF THE SANDWICH” from March 7- March 20, 2007

Vivi’s Original Sauce™ was recently approved for the Central Markets ™H.E.B. in Texas. Central Markets™H.E.B. is currently celebrating Vivi’s products it their Foodie Finds “Art of the Sandwich” from March 7 – March 20, 2007. Here’s what they say, “With a splash of this famous spicy mustard sauce, typical grilled meats suddenly become gourmet fare. This mustard is tangy and spicy, sweet and savory, healthy and delicious – all at the same time! Plus, it’s got a long history of pleasing the ravenous taste buds.”

Vivian Poutakoglou, owner of Vivi’s Original Sauce™ and elementary teacher by day and sauce entrepreneur by night, decided to take her grandparents “special hot sauce” to market in honor of their life’s achievement. Vivi’s “Classic” was created over 50 years ago when her grandparents mixed a unique blend of sweet, tangy, and spicy flavors to create what they coined their, “Special Hot Sauce.” They took their savory mustard-based treasure to carnivals and fairs throughout the Heartland of America to share with amusement seekers and Ferris Wheel riders. To their amazement, fans returned year after year to enjoy what had become a summertime tradition. Eventually the secret recipe for the homemade, hand-stirred delight was passed down to their youngest granddaughter, Vivian. Being the namesake of her beloved grandma she decided to name the company after the woman she so admired. Vivi’s Original Sauce™ LLC was brought to life, and the “Special Hot Sauce” took on the new name Classic Carnival Mustard.

After a couple years of researching and networking in the food world, Vivian launched
Vivi’s Original Sauce™ trio of Carnival Mustards (Classic, Sizzlin’ Chipotle, Roasted Grandstand Garlic) in January, 2006 at the NASFT Fancy Food Show in San Francisco, CA. Here is where Vivi met the buyer for Central Markets™H.E.B. He loved the sauces, and within a year they went on the shelves of Central Markets™H.E.B.

In January and February 2007, Vivi’s did its first round of demos at Central Markets™H.E.B. Consumers loved Vivi’s healthy ingredients, savory flavors, and their wide range of cooking abilities. Vivi’s Original Sauce™ looks forward to building a strong relationship with Central Markets™H.E.B and its consumers.
